Anna Sohn
Anna Sohn is honored to promote the professional sport of rodeo, agriculture, and the western way of life in the Great Lakes State as Miss Rodeo Michigan 2025. Anna is the 21-year-old daughter of Tom and Katherine Sohn. Originally from Del Mar, California, she now calls Ann Arbor, Michigan home.
Despite being raised in an urban area, Anna has been riding horses since she could walk and has always had a special place in her heart for rodeo. As she was growing up in Southern California, Anna showed livestock with her 4-H club, Olivenhain Valley 4-H, and played Varsity basketball for her high school, Francis Parker School.
Anna is now a senior at the University of Michigan, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During her time at the University of Michigan, Anna rode for the U of M Equestrian Team and helped found a chapter of Letters of Love.
Anna is excited to share her platform for the year– "Start Small". This platform celebrates the power of small beginnings. Rodeo queens have the unique opportunity to interact with young children and help develop their interest in rodeo and agriculture. Investing in our youth and nurturing their connection to rodeo from an early age is essential for the western way of life.
"Start Small" also honors the small businesses that make rodeo and rodeo queening possible. As a business student, Anna knows how powerful these local sponsors can be for the sport of rodeo. This platform is a reminder to always look to support small businesses first!
Lastly, "Start Small" is personal. Anna started the journey to Miss Rodeo Michigan as a first-time rodeo queen. She was unsure of how to begin, so she took some small steps, like making some rodeo knowledge flashcards and putting together a horsemanship outfit. But those small steps led her here, all the way to the Miss Rodeo Michigan title and now, to Las Vegas for the Miss Rodeo America pageant. This platform is about the youth, small businesses, and the courage to begin—three small things that make a big impact in rodeo.
